I Got Nothin'

Nothin' going on here.  We still have quite a bit of snow on the ground, so nothing's going on with the horses.  We've had snow on the ground for so long that Paj has a hoof abscess.  It's his first one in years.

Since I got nothin', I thought I'd update you on our friends.  Jan is Elvis' full-time rider now.  That's great news, because it means that Jan is 100% well.

Finessa, the beautiful Borzoi that Bob co-owns with Kay, competed in the Westminster Dog Show.  She was 1 of 5 Borzoi invited.  The others were drawn from a lottery system.  Finessa qualified based on her winnings for the year, which included Best of Show at the Borzoi Specialty, where she beat 273 other Borzoi.  At Westminster, Finessa earned an Award of Merit.  The other Borzoi that received this award was from Japan.  Yay Finessa!
Gossamer (Gossy), another of Bob and Diana's Borzoi.

Neighbor and friend Chuck competed at the National Reining Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) World Show Finals on both Rooster and Boss Man.  Boss Man is a great favorite of mine.

Boss Man

If you're like me and know nothing about cow horse reining, here's a primer -

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, David took care of Chuck's stud colt.

Chuck has a helper, but the colt can be a handful.  David is the only one Chuck wants handling the stud colt.  David is my favorite horse person too!

Now you wouldn't be a little biased now would you!? lol
So that is what all that 'rodeo stuff' is called! Gee, I sound like a hick! A lot of training for those horses, I can see.
And you said you had nothing....tsk tsk!

No news is good news, right? But you know, all you have to do is keep posting photos of those handsome fellas and that's good enough to keep us coming back!

Wow those cowboys can`t half ride-I`d be off in seconds if I tried any of that- it must take ages to school a horse to that level-loved this post !

Well, that was a lot about nothing! Thanks for all the updates. I remember the dogs. Congrats to her for even getting to participate in the Westminster Dog Show. And the picture is gossamer, indeed, like a fairy emerging from a dark forest. A gorgeous dog and a beautiful photo.

I'm glad to hear all is well, even if there isn't a whole lot going on (that's not always bad). By the way, I think Boss Man is dreamy!! :)

Congratulations to Finessa. What beautiful dogs! Those reined cow horses are incredible. Looks like the rider just has to sit, stay on, and stay out of the horse's way. Sounds like your friends are doing great. Sorry about Paj's abscess; hope it resolves soon.

We have lots of snow too. Some of it has really worn out its welcome, since it has been here since November. (Geesh..melt or evaporate already; just go away.)
