Welcome Home Mickey

Most folks go out to dinner to celebrate their anniversary.  We went to the Humane Society.  My frozen heart had thawed at long last after the death of Clifford, and I was finally ready for another dog.  We were looking for a medium to large dog, 1-3 years old, good with cats.  Mickey, a small older dog, had other plans.

As we looked at dogs and scanned their bios,
he locked eyes with us and said
"Please take me home."
We said, "Mickey, are you good with cats?"
and he said "Why, yes I am!"

After a long day of checking out his ranch
Mickey is tired.
Welcome home, little Mickey.

Ooh, I so love caring people like you !
I try my very best to persuade folks into getting a shelter pet, they are just the best little companions, and a life is truly saved.
You did well Mickey :)
Blessings,

Isn't it funny the way they pick you instead of the other way around? He looks very sweet, very spunky and VERY happy. Congrats!!

Clifford would be very pleased that you opened your heart, to love another dog that needed you. I think he would approve of Mickey!

Mickey looks like he will be a good companion for you and a whole lot of fun. He's really cute!

Hooray!!! So glad your heart is open again. Can't think of many better ways to celebrate an anniversary. So how old is the Mickster, anyway? Love how his tail's going a mile a minute in the shelter pics.

BTW, that's a very nice-looking shelter. Those are some dang lucky dogs.

Wow-what a perfect way to celebrate your anniversary! And what a smart boy that Mickey is! He knows a wonderful heart when he sees one (or two!) He is gorgeous!! Please share a little more about his personality and more pix after he has settled in! I am smitten! He looks so much like our departed sweet girl Monkey. Made my heart skip a beat when I saw his picture. What a doll. I am certain that Clifford is waggig his tail in approval that your hearts were ready to love another pawed little friend.
Congratulations and happy anniversary!
