I rode Boomer! Oh yes I did!
David hopped on him yesterday, and he felt and looked good. So I got on him this morning, and we had a nice walkabout. The only problem was getting on and off. Getting on was do-able with the help of a mounting block, but getting off was a challenge. I sat there thinking "Now how the heck am I going to get off"? I'm 5'4, Boomer's 18.2.
But with the help of David, the mounting block, and a very steady Boomer, I was able to slide off without using the arm too much. Yah! What a good boy!
If it wasn't for David's help, I'd still be on Boomer.

That made me long for the good old days on horseback. While living in Kent, England, I used to ride a horse named Everest. Good thing I'm 6 ft tall or I may have had a problem too.
About my hand, I was diagnosed with osteo (sp?) arthritis and prescribed an anti-inflammatory called Meloxicam, 15 mg. Number one side-effect: strokes and heart attacks, killer stomach problems, etc. It has helped after a month and a half, but I will not stay on this medicine much longer.
There are worse places to be stuck than on top of a super-handsome, steady-Eddie horse, although Boomer might disagree after a while. In the third picture, it looks like you're kind of pushing him over a little--those 32 lb. water buckets sure made you strong! :D

That's just the best...I'd be sooo frightened to get up on Boomer... I need a lot of encouragement when it comes to horses....Now that was Daddy Ron talking and I must go do some sniffin'!

Just the kind of horse that you need for your first ride in a while! There is nothing so safe feeling as a rock solid horse, and Boomer is certainly that, physically and mentally. Next time, just do a cowboy dismount. Swing that right leg over the saddle and slide down with your back to Boomer. ;-D

You naughty Girl !!..but I bet you enjoyed every minute of it...a guilty pleasure and couldn't wait to be back in that saddle....Excellent that Boomer was so good and all went well....glad you also had a nice holiday...!!...but I bet you're glad to be back home !!.....Jayne
