The King and I

Elvis and I are coming along nicely.  It's been a week since Jan and I started him back to work.  We've progressed from walk-trot in the lunge pen to walk-trot-canter (and leg yields) in Jan's dressage arena.  Elvis has been such a good boy.  It's a joy to ride him.

Jan tacked Elvis, coached me and took phone photos.  What a gal!  I couldn't resist blowing this photo up 'till it blurred 'cause we're lookin' good!

Here's a look at the canter from the cell phone -

I'm having so much fun riding Elvis and working with Jan again.  I'm feeling mighty lucky today - nice horses, good friends, and a husband that did my chores while I rode.  To top it all off, today is the first time I rode pain free!  Yes, that sneaky whip hopped out of my hand one time, but that shoulder wasn't nagging me every stride.  Happy day.
