Wow.
This was the view from our house an hour ago.
We're under a tornado warning.
The storm is upon us, but not the tornado. We are having torrential rains and heavy lightening. Not to worry, my computer is not plugged in and the boys are locked in the barn. We'll just ride the storm out. We have had storms every afternoon for almost a week. Yesterday's blew the old dead tree on our back fenceline down and into the neighbor's fence. David and neighbor Cheryl have a date with a chainsaw tomorrow.
I added the following short video clip after the storm. There is a ground rainbow to the right of the barn, and hail in the distance to the far right. The rainbow was much more vivid in person.

Oh my that doesn't sound good or look good.. stay safe!
We could use rain so bad, but I will pass on the tornado.
Wow..what a sky !...stay safe, hope all is well after those storms......Jayne
I definitely have a new appreciation for tornadoes after the one we had near our home this year.
Please stay safe!
I hope you are still all there and safe. Seems there is a lot of bad weather this week. Here, it's just too hot, we could use a rain to cool us down... maybe.
Holy crow! I hope you have a good safe hiding place. Those things are frightening, and the closest I've ever been to one is on TV.
I can't believe what you and your family are enduring. Again, the weather is very unpredictable this year. take care!
Stay safe Terry! Hope the 'boys' stay calm too.
Crazy weather! Glad you were spared. I can't imagine being in an area that has a lot of tornadoes.
wow, scary! be safe! I've never heard of or seen a ground rainbow before. that is pretty cool.
Hope you are all safe and well.
On a more positive note I guess you won`t be short of logs this winter ! x
You guys and folks further east have had some really tough weather. As I type this there are black clouds east of me and thunderheads are building to the south and west.
Glad you were safe.
I have never seen a ground rainbow - how cool is that?!
That's a great picture of the swirling storm clouds. I was oblivious of the tornado warning in my area this week. I was in the barn doing chores, had just fed the horses when it began hailing. Misty seemed disturbed. She left her food (very unlike her) and the barn, went outside and just stood in the hail. That was shortly after 8pm. I thought she had a tummy ache so I checked on her about 9:30pm and she was fine, back in the barn eating contentedly. The next morning my co-workers told me about the tornado in the area with a warning around 8:25pm. It didn't touch down. I wonder now if Misty knew there was something "in the air" to be wary of. Note to self: check the news whenever there is a bad storm in the area.
Will you have some good firewood from your fallen tree?
Holy Cow! I cannot imagine a tornado either! We sure have been having some awesome rains up here, though. Yesterday was one of the worst thunder/lightning storms I have ever seen in my 20+ years in CO...crazy! I think the lightning was hitting just 100-150 feet away from our barn-poor pups were very afraid.
I love your new pasture...you have no idea how jealous I am! Tell the ponies that we hope they are enjoying romping! You guys have such a beautiful property!
Scritches to everyone!
xoxo
Tornadoes scare the crap out of me, but those are some wicked cool clouds.
