I Don't Want to Think About It

I don't want to think about the blizzard we're having.  I don't want to think about the temperature (14 degree high, 5 degree low), the wind (25 mph, gusting to 40) or the snow.  I especially don't want to think about the temperature steadily falling in the barn.  The horses are locked in, snug as bugs in their rugs, but I worry.

We are distracting ourselves by baking and decorating the house for Christmas.  First on the tree?

Why, it's Bouvier Angel, a tribute to Lloyd, the best dog that ever lived (no offense to Mickey, Clifford and Peppy, all best dogs too!).

Next we put up ornaments made by our talented blog friend Kate at The Adventures of Lucy.
Reggie, Paj
Boomer, Ben

Reggie never looked better!
Thank you, Kate.

All that decorating and cookie taste testing is exhausting.

Tomorrow we bounce back to a balmy 40 degrees, and yes, the sun will come out tomorrow.
Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya, tomorrow!
You're always
A day
Away!
My apologies for imprinting that in your brain.  Snicker snicker.

This weather is crazy! Back here, Gary and I have the worst colds EVER!
It would be better if we did not have these big fluctuations in temperature.
Nice ornaments!

I don't want to think about either Terry! We've been having it quite easy here...no snow.

Hey, at least Mickey has his eyes on you!! Great shot.

Good seasonal distractions, and the decorations are adorable. (so is Mickey giving you the eye!)

Hope everything is warmer in the morning. :D

You know how we feed our horses more hay when it gets really cold like today? Well, it is the same for humans. Only, we have to eat more cookies. Enjoy, and stay warm.

Goodness, it's hard to believe we are all in the same country, snow at your end, and sun at ours :)
Doesn't feel like Christmas wearing shorts and flip-flops !
Enjoy your decorating, it's what makes it all so magical.
From our home to yours a very Merry Christmas....

I hope you made some horse cookies too! Mickey looks disappointed in the absence of dog biscuits.

I'm a bit jealous of those custom made ornaments. Does she do dogs? :D

So very sorry that Mother Nature has turned her back on you...really not fair. Cold bitter winds though keep you inside and you can get all that cooking done. Hope the weather turned for you and you could get outside. Saw Boomer in the parade...lovely!

Love the Christmas decorations! This time of year is really nice :)
Asides from the awful weather you guys are having. Hope it goes away.

I was thinking about your horses in their barn yesterday during the storm and was hoping that they were doing well. I have a friend with horses who lives close to me, and I know how she worries when the weather is bad. The Christmas horse decorations your friend made were darling as was the Bouvier angel. You must like big animals - bouviers are huge! I love the look Mickey is giving you. Things were definitely better today - you have to love that Colorado solar heating.

Oh look! Itty Bitty Izzy B is snuggling on the sofa! Oh wait...that's Mickey! :)

Love all of the ornaments and hoping that you are all staying warm and snug! I do not miss the wind one bit-so sorry for your blizzard!

Happy Holidays!

p.s. can you send Mickey here to visit for a few years? I think he needs to be with his Izzy :)

I love that parade shot! I hope you don't have too many problems as a result of the big storm. I'm sure the horses will be just fine and the rest of the family looks very snug on the sofa. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
