A Cool Down

It's cooling off!  It was 37 degrees at feeding time this morning, and we can see snow on Pike's Peak.  It's time to get ready for winter.  This year we're adding automatic waterers to the pastures.  No more fighting ice!  Yay!

David, Eric, Tom

The cooler weather means the horses are feeling feisty.  This morning when we drove Boomer, Ben wanted to come too.

Boomer was his usual steady self in spite of Ben's antics.
I always enjoy the shadows.

That looks like quite a project! I can only imagine how much easier your chilly days will be not having to mess with the icy water.
I'm glad Boomer minded his manners while the romping around was going on, Good Boy! Such wonderful animals.

I bet it must be great fun to watch Ben act so energetic, and to have Boomer be his "ol' reliable self"!!

I'm jealous! Great photos and 37 degrees! We've been in the low 40s, but you are beating us.

Mid-40s here in the canyon, but still very hot during the days. I love your horse pictures and I can also imagine how wonderful the heated water will be for you guys. Then I looked at Mickey and wondered what got his attention. That's so cute. Samson and Soldier are great mice and lizard hunters, but have no idea what to do with a rabbit.

What sweet shadows...
Automated watering will be a huge help, lucky you !
How well-mannered Boomer was, whilst that HUGE figure of a horse Ben was kicking up his heels :)
Snow on Pikes Peak...how I long for those views !

Did you say 37 degrees?? BRR! I'm not ready for summer to be over yet... I've been too busy to enjoy most of it.

Love the pictures as always!

37 degrees? BRrrRRRrrRRR...those waterers will be a blessing for sure! Not sure if that's a word or if it's spelled correctly, but you know what I mean ;).

I love the pictures of running Ben and I'm glad to hear the Boomer kept his cool too!
