Wow he certainly wears his years well !Both beautiful looking horses...~Jo
Happy Birthday Reggie! Now a question: Do some horses get bothered by flies more so than others? Just like humans? I see Paj doesn't have a fly sheet. Now if a fly sheet is not what I think it is, please delete this ASAP!! lol
Yes Jim, it is like humans! Some horses are bothered by flies much more than others. The Clydesdales have fly sheets too, but I've hardly ever had to use them. They say it's partly breed of horse, with some breeds like Thoroughbreds having thinner skin than other breeds. I also use fly sheets and masks for sun protection. Paj has a white nose, and it can get sunburned. Such sensitive creatures!
This is so very interesting re: fly connundrum...my Dads are like that Ron~~flies don't bother him and they stick like glue to Jim...this is between you me Terry. PS..Ron was google mapping you just so he had a better placing of you geographically...can you help him? He loves pin pointing on google map and streetview!Sophie
Happy Belated Birthday, Reggie! You sure are looking good in your protective getup. And interesting information regarding flies preferences for different horse breeds.
What a handsome fellow. He looks like he's 20 going on 8. Happy Birthday beautiful boy. He looks very happy in his new birthday (fly) suit. Misty has been terrorized by horseflies on a couple of trail rides we've been on recently. I hope Reggie is comfy in his fly sheet.
Happy birthday Reggie ! he sure is looking good !
Happy birthday Reg! What a handsome boy!Are you guys safe? We had a fire ON our property this morning (we are still in CO)...we started packing up and harnessing the dogs so we could hop into the trucks, load the ponies, and evacuate...so stressful!Luckily the fire was put out quickly-I guess more lucky was that we had a non-windy day or this would be a different update.Hope you guys are safe-it is a very scary summer!Hugs,Sue
