Ring of Fire, Part 2

Last evening I stood on the back porch, trying to see the eclipse.  The sky was dramatic, but there were too many clouds to see the ring of fire, or even to get a good look at the sun.

But I enjoyed the view.

It was obvious that something was happening behind those clouds.

I want to share with you the fabulous photo my brother Joe
took of the Ring of Fire -

Well you almost saw it Terry! Your shots are good, they look like night photos.

We were in Parker, at dinner. We were just about to head out to see the eclipse when the clouds came over :((

Gorgeous! That last photo especially is amazing, it doesn't look real.

I'm jealous of you folks on the other side of the country -- it wasn't even visible here, and I wouldn't have even known about it if it weren't for the blogs I follow! (Our next chance is in 2017, I think...)

We could see it here in California, but I didn't have the right equipment to really look. It gave a strange light to the landscape. I wanted to thank you for your kind words on Angel's passing. I appreciate your friendship.

I watched the video of your brother, Terry...he is really an addict...that's OK it could be worse....love the picture! We've had a couple of these in Nova Scotia since 1970...the landscape turned black almost...I was driving a car and had to turn on lights...so very strange!
