Thats the sort of Rush Hour...everyone should have !....fantastic !! Marvellous what you can find growing out in the fields.....No sign of Holly the Hedgehog...just yet...I think its still a little cold....her straw hasn't been disturbed in the house....so Im guessing shes still sleeping !!.......Jayne
Great picture! We have a herd of deer near our new place. They are also looking shaggy, like your doe. You are right about our Pike's Peak views. We are closer than you as our current home is just north of Black Forest. We will miss the peak when we move to Parker. We can sorta see it... but we have a hill and a house on the hill that blocks most of the view.
I'm glad you guys like the deer - I sure do. There are several herds of mule deer in the area. The one that hangs out on this road is about 10 strong. They amble across the road from the ranch supply store to the town cemetery every day. They aren't afraid of cars at all, and no one bothers them.
Mountain Thyme, it's nice to meet you. I tried to go to your blog, but I got a message saying it's been removed. Drop me your URL if you don't mind so I can say hi.
Terry, thanks for asking about us. I was worrying about you, as I'm not sure exactly where you are. We are safe and should probably be OK. There are a bunch of houses between us and the fire and I am pretty sure fire departments will work like mad not to let those houses get involved. If you do need to evacuate and need a place for horses, hounds, cats or yourselves, let me know. 843 368 9338

She is beautiful ! and looks so tame -bit worried that she is so near that main road .
Wow she is sure calm for being that close to a vehicle! She does kind of look like she is thinking, "excuse me I believe I had the right of way"!
I can't believe how close she is to the car! Pretty :)
Is she someone's pet? She seems awfully calm to be that close to the car. Beautiful!
Wow, that's amazing.
Is that a mule deer? Looks a bit heftier than our whitetails.
"Excuse me, but would you happen to have picked up any cracked corn you'd be willing to share?"

She doesn't look nervous at all... almost like she's wondering what everyone is looking at! She's beautiful!

We get that kind of traffic here in Evergreen also! What they like about the downtown intersection is beyond me.
