The Fire is Contained, and Zan is Home

The fire is 100% contained.  People have been allowed back in their homes, but not with livestock.  This is because there are still hot spots and the wind is howling, so people have to be able to leave in 10 minutes.

Zan went home to Jan's today.  He wasn't exactly happy to leave, but once he got home, he was verrry happy!

After one last look,
he joined his herd.
That's Elvis in the lead, followed by Zan and Lakota.

Lakota is lagging because he was busy showing Zan
how to stand on two legs.

Boomer is missing Zan a bit tonight.  He will be getting extra hugs and treats.
We are back to being a 3 horse ranch.

The pictures of the horses are marvelous, I'm sure Zan was over the top to get back! Poor Boomer though.....

I'm glad the danger is pretty much over.

Good news about the fire being contained. Zan is a beautiful boy! He and his two pals were most happy to be together!

You caught some great action shots. It's such fun to see horses acting that way... in pasture, maybe not so much underneath us!
When we drove home this evening we could still see some smoldering areas near the horse park. What a scary situation.. and it blew up so darn fast.
I hope we get some rain or snow. Lots of it!!!!

Your horses are in seventh heaven I'd say...excitement and playfulness! Glad to hear the fires are contained.

Glad the fire is out and everyone is safe. Love it when horses run and especially buck in blankets. On the one hand, you're laughing at their antics, but, on the other, you're sweating just a little, hoping that they don't get a leg caught in the straps.

We are very familiar with wildfires in the Southern California area :-(

I'm glad the fire is out and your starting to get back to normal :-)

So glad the fire is under control. I thought of you on my ride this weekend when we went through a controlled burn area in the pines.
