Look what I found in the field today -
a lovely cup-shaped mushroom.
I hope you can see the little cactus right below it.
It's not every day you see fungi and cacti together.
Last year I found
cactus in the middle of moss! It's a desert here (almost) - what's up with the moss?

Now that is cool looking.
Nature is just so cool!!
You just never know about Mother Nature. Sometimes I think she has a sense of humor and other times I think she just wants to make us nuts. Moss in the desert, no clue! LOL
I would never have guessed that was a mushroom ! Is it one you can eat ?
Lovely photos! I love finds like this out in nature.
That doesn't look like any moss I have seen, it looks like teeny, tiny, baby cacti!
Good Sunday!
Sharon, we all know I'm no photographer, lol! It does look like tons of little cactus in my photo, but it was moss. Really.
I like the subtle color of the cactus. Do you have them in the pasture? Are they a problem for the horses?
That mushroom is incredible Terry! And a cactus next to it! What do you think will be next to these next year?
Looks like the remains of an old puffball mushroom, possibly a Calvatia Booniana.
Great pictures, Terry! I'm surprised that mushroom is still in one piece! The cactus plants are really pretty!
