The Estes Park Wool Market is proud to be "the largest fiber fest in the West". It begins on Wednesday, with workshops on spinning, weaving and dyeing. The weekend is devoted to demonstrations, contests and exhibits. Click here for more info.

I took lots of video of the demos. Unfortunately, my camera was off when I thought it was on, and vice versa. I have a lot of footage of the ground. I did manage some stills from the Junior Exhibitor Trail Class.

Of course I had to ask how you shear a bison/buffalo.
You don't.
They hand-gather clumps of down the bison shed.
The mind boggles.

I think I would have flipped out over the bison wool and bought something just to have it. I've seen Bison shed out in the spring and they have these huge dreds hanging off them. I just didn't know you could spin it and weave it. Although, I guess it makes sense.

Look at all that fibre!! I love alpaca and I see that Bison/buffalo works well too. We bought socks a couple of years ago at a wool farm in PEI made of Muskox and wear them inside all winter long!
Too funny, but disappointing too, about the videos.....we have experience at this as well!!
Love your use of the animal alphabet. Looks like a fabulous festival...ok, the alphabet thing is catching. I could run up a big shopping bill there.
