These tiny little cacti turn to mush underfoot,
and pose no threat to horse or human.
There were a few wildflowers I was less than happy to see.

Dr. Gary assures us that well-fed horses won't eat toxic plants,
but these guys are outta here!

It's nice that we are finally having a spring, with moderate temps during the day and cool crisp nights. I have always wondered what the tiny white flowers were called and now I know.

The first and last photos are wonderful, Terry! I love that splash of orange from the Indian Paintbrush. And look at Paj! Almost looks surreal.
Haha...I was going to comment complaining about the lack of horses with those flowers until I saw Paj's sweet face! Hopefully the bugs are not that bad with it being so cold out and Paj is just getting dressed up for fun.

I don't blame you for pulling up the ones that are toxic for your horses, better safe than sorry!
And when my sister got married in Colorado in August of 1996, we had frost in the morning but it got to 80 degrees that same day! Colorado is CRAZY beautiful!

And thanks for your comment on my last post. I couldn't help and laugh though, 'cause I thought the same about you living on a farm! To me, I just wonder about how wonderful it must be to live in such an amazing place. And once upon a time, it was my dream to live on a big farm with horses...
June is a pretty month at your place. We don't have many flowers at our place, but the green, green grass is a sight for sore eyes after the long brown winter.

My favorite of these is the wildflower :)
Lovely flowers... But I am embarrassed to say, I had thought locoweed another name for marijuana. I think the Indian Paintbrush is probably my favorite. And it looks like Paj is pretty much ready for anything!
