Visiting with Family in Colorado Springs

I drove down to Colorado Springs yesterday to visit with my brother Tom, sister-in-law Pat, and Pat's father Bob.  Bob lives at the base of Pike's Peak.  It's a wee bit larger than as seen from the ranch!

Pike's Peak

Bob lives within walking distance of Garden of the Gods

At 99 years old, Bob lives in his own home, hangs out at the Elk's lodge,  and drives his beloved Cadillac.  He invited me to his 100th birthday party, and I'm looking forward to it.

 My brother Tom

Did you notice the pin he's wearing?  Tom and Pat are jewelers, and Tom cast that pin from a blue jay's feather.  Pretty darn cool.

Tom and Pat flew home to North Carolina today.  I will miss them so much.

This was a lovely trip down memory lane for me too!! I've been to these fabulous places! Thanks so much!!
And Pat's father... what a great great blessing...especially that he drives his Cadillac still! :) What "boy" doesn't like his car?
Blessings for a great New Year!

What a remarkable man!

I am glad you had a chance to visit with your brother. Hey, not only do we own the same bowl, which originally belonged to our mother, but we have something else in common; my brother was a jeweler, too!

That's the best looking 99-year old guy I've ever seen. It's so wonderful to hear about old people that manage to live full lives. What a blessing! I know you will tell us all about the 100-year old birthday party.

If Bob lived in Canada when reaches 100 he`d receive a letter from Queen Elizabeth....that is quite the milestone!
Yes the feather is stunning!

Lovely family pictures, Terry! That pin is amazing! Tom and Pat must be very talented as jewelers. We should all be so lucky as to live in our own homes at 99 and enjoy life. Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak, such gorgeous natural beauty. It's hard to see family members leave. I have not seen my brother in over two years because he lives in Kuwait City. Telephone, gmail, Facebook are just not the same. I hope it won't be long before you see Tom and Pat again. Have a good day!

Wow - Bob doesn't look even close to 99 years old. How wonderful that he is still living and not 'just alive'!

I also live in NC. Where does your brother sell his pins?

Happy new year :)
