Things that go Bump in the Night

 See the little trench?

 See the black tube?
The black tube belongs in the little trench.
It carries gutter water away from the barn.
(It's very helpful when you have 3' of melting snow on your barn roof.)

How did the tube jump out of the trench?
 Let's take a closer look...

 Teeth marks!

 And holes!

It's elementary, Watson.
A hungry coyote was after a bunny.

I hope no bunnies were harmed in the making of this post.
It must have been a scary night.

Wow, that is some impressive damage done in the name of a bunny dinner! I hope it's not too hard to reassemble everything.

Oh, and your barn is BEAUTIFUL! Love it!

I'll bet you are right about this.

Yikes! I hope the bunny had plenty of hiding places and made it out okay. The attacker was definitely determined!

That's quite a story! I hope the damage didn't cost too much in time and dollars for you! I know coyotes have to eat, but I'm rooting for the bunny escaping! You have such a pretty barn - lucky Boomer and the other horses! I hope that you are enjoying our warmup!

Oh ho! Mee too, hope no bunnies got it!
You may need to upgrade the "tunnel " water system to Metal!...though metal and horses..humm

I was wondering, T, have you ever had a snow melt, as it sliding down the roof line there over the horses porch area, take off your gutters?

Yikes! It's dangerous out there! Nothing worse than a hungry coyote! Do the horses get restless when one is around?

KK, we've been lucky so far - no gutter damage due to snow, although we had to replace the roof due to hail one year.

Jim, the morning I discovered the remodeling, Paj was jumping out of his skin! He doesn't mind coyotes in the pasture (Reggie chases them!), but this was a little too close to home.

I've noticed your blog and I respect your country living. Sorry your drain pipe was injured. I've done that with a sprinkler hose as I'm always digging in the ground.
